Major General Farkash is one of the world’s leading experts in the fields of security, military and intelligence. During his 40-year distinguished career in the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), Major General Farkash held numerous prominent positions, including leading the Directorate of Military Intelligence (Aman), heading the Technological and Logistics directorate and managing the prestigious Israel SIGINT National Unit (8200).
Major General Farkash was responsible for providing national security assessment and critical security intelligence to Israel’s leadership, and developed a network of contacts with political and business leaders in both Israel and abroad, in order to promote Israeli national interests.
Major General Farkash founded FST Biometrics in 2007 to address multiple global mega-trends associated with the increasing need for high level security that does not negatively impact the normal pace of life.
Major General Farkash has served as the Head of the Intelligence and National Defence Program at the Institute of National Security Studies (INSS) at Tel Aviv University. He is a member of Hebrew University’s Board of Trustees, a member of the R&D advisory committee to the Minister of Defense in developing future security technologies, and frequently advises Israel’s president and other civilian and military leaders.
Major General Farkash is the author of the book “To the Best of Our Knowledge: Intelligence, Operations and Policy.” He holds a master’s degree in Middle Eastern & Islamic Studies from Tel Aviv University, and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School.
